Every day in the United States, an estimated 150,000 kids miss school due to fear or intimidation of bullies. In fact, many believe that fear of bullying may be the leading cause of low self-esteem in children. According to livebullyfree.com, Bullying remains one of the biggest problems faced by children going to school in the U.S. today. According to the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center, almost 30% of school-age children report being either bullied, or being bullies.
Martial Arts is a great way to have children develop their physical attributes, make new friends, and have fun. Our Little Grapplers Program offers children between the ages of 7-15 the opportunity to unconsciously learn the elements of leverage and control, regardless of size.
In our Kids Program, we don’t teach and train students “How to Fight”, we train them “How NOT to Fight”. Although effective self-defense techniques are taught, children are also taught to defend themselves against laziness, mediocrity and a lack of respect and discipline. In addition, our curriculum promotes a bullyproof system*, allowing for students to learn self-defense and confrontation management.
